Fitted wardrobes in Loughborough

Several of the wardrobes on this site are in Charnwood. In Loughborough, Harrington doors in Fjord matt run floor to ceiling around a chimney breast, with pull-down hanging rails inside. In Sileby, Stockholm fluted doors in Fjord matt frame open wood-effect shelving, with low units under the bay window. In Barrow upon Soar, 4-panel Contemporary Shaker doors in Cashmere sit beside an open bookcase in a natural oak-effect finish, lit by LED strips in the shelves. And in another Loughborough bedroom, a reed green wardrobe is angled at the top to follow a sloping ceiling. Different houses and different looks. In a larger master bedroom in Woodhouse Eaves or Rothley there may be room for a walk-in dressing room instead, with open hanging, drawers and a 36mm worktop available. Where floor space is tight, aluminium-framed sliding doors with board, mirror or glass panels, including smoked or reeded glass, give the whole wall to storage. Home offices in Loughborough

Plenty of people around Loughborough now work from home for at least part of the week, and the spare room has to work harder. A fitted office is built around how you work: a desk at the depth you need, a cupboard that closes over the printer and the paperwork at the end of the day, shelves for the files or the books, and the cables run behind the furniture, out of sight. When the room still has to take a guest bed, the desk and storage can share the wall with a wardrobe in matching doors, so it looks like a bedroom again once the laptop is shut. Media walls and fitted living in Loughborough

In an older Loughborough house the alcoves either side of the living-room chimney breast are the natural place for fitted cupboards and shelves, and a media wall takes the same idea across the whole chimney wall: the television set into it, cupboards either side, lit shelves, and space for an integrated fire if you want one. In a newer house the media wall is often the one piece of furniture that gives the living room a focus. Under-stairs storage and hallway cupboards use the same construction and finishes, scribed to the walls and ceiling so there is nothing to catch the eye but the doors.
